Refocusing

In a time like this in the next few blog posts, I want to occupy the blog with short, focused, timely treatments of major issues in the campus community, on pedagogy, and on the public discourse of religion.

These are all connected, if each piece I'm writing doesn't touch on all at once.

However, I do have a common agenda in mind for all of them: to reflect on the assumptions underlying major conflicts in these areas and to reconsider them, reemphasize them, and productively challenge them. Sometimes arguments can go on so long and so intensely that the formative terms of their significance are lost or neglected.

It's time to be timely. Stay focused here.
